We recently became aware of an e-mail message received by customers that appeared to come from Pine Island Telephone Company. The subject of the message reads “ A new settings file for the youremailaddress@pitel .net  has just be released.”


PLEASE DO NOT REPLY to these types of e-mail messages. We have not made any system changes that would compromise the security of your account. If a message like this appears in your inbox simply delete it. It is an attempt to steal your account information and is commonly referred to as "phishing". Be aware that Pine Island Telephone Company will NEVER ask you for password information via e-mail, as that information is private and is only known by you.
